Although it certainly has a thriving tourism industry, Ferrara is not on the typical foreign tourist’s itinerary, which makes it perfect for those tourists who want to get off the beaten path of Venice-Florence-Rome and soak in some authentic northern Italian culture.
The restaurant is very charming and with lots of character. It was full with local people enjoying the food and convivial atmosphere. The owner and staff were amazing. They were attentive, professional and warm. Each dish is creative and is on a par or better than Michelin restaurants in Paris. The wine was one of best I ever had. It was a local white. The al dente pasta is like no other, try the pink shrimp tortellini as it is heavenly. The restaurant stays full and is small so reservations are a must. Family owned, family pride in their food and without a doubt a must when you are in Ferrara.
