This restaurant exemplifies the epidome of a romantic Italian restaurant! Located in the center of piazza de Ricci, since 1938. The fresh fish, carpaccio and pasta dishes are unparalleled! The 600 label wine cellar, with wines in all price ranges, is also a pleasure to experience! The service just couldn't be better or friendlier, with old world standards of waiter etiquette. When they found out it was our first visit to the restaurant the waiter just smile and said “I will order for you, wine, dinner and if you don't like the meal is on me.” We were a bit nervous but decided to go for it. Each course was better than the next.
The atmosphere was electric, the wine was delicious. Pierlughi offers dishes I had never experience before in raw seafood selections, fish tartare, prawns carpaccio and the rare langoustines. Of course your in Italy you Must have past and believe me this past will delight your palate with flavor and texture. One of the best.

This restaurant the perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner or a fun party. In summertime, guests may choose to enjoy their meals in the lovely terrace garden, an elegant setting in the heart of Trastevere. We arrived at 9 pm for dinner, which is late for us but very early for Italy. The restaurant began to fill up at 10 pm. The gardens are lovely for dinner but we chose to sit inside. The food is classic Roman dishes with new interpretation. Alongside some dishes like: hamburger made with Monte San Biagio sausage or cured Bassiano ham with crispy buffalo.
There is no shortage of interpretations of some traditional recipes. The Fish deserves its own chapter: depending on the catch and the season, new recipes are offered, departing from the tradition of Italian cuisine to get a modern interpretation of international taste. The desserts, like all our dishes, follow the changing of the seasons, the excellent and original sorbets, reinterpretations of the classic tiramisu, sorbet, creme brulée and other great pastry classics.

CORTE DEL GRILLO
Our first restaurant in Rome was a surprise all around. As we approached the restaurant there were very large glass windows. We opened the glass door, I thought it was a fish market, as right up front was your selection of fish. You selected your dinner before you sat at your table. My first experience with choosing your dinner fresh and some alive.

The dining area was simple not quite what I was expecting for my first Italian restaurant. As the prosecco started and the food came out. I was more delighted by each course. The waiter would bring out our fresh choice on a platter and in a short while return with it cooked to perfection. The Mediterranean Sea Bass was cooked in salt and the most tender and sweet I have ever tasted. Every dish from the pasta to the langoustine was superb.

There was a very unassuming couple sitting next to us, they asked how did you like the food. After ten minutes of telling them how delicious it was, they said thank you we are the owners. That is the style of the restaurant, unassuming but elegant with class. A must when you go to Rome.
