HOUSTON, TEXAS

The food at Etoile is absolutely superb. It is fresh, fresh, fresh!!The fish, the meat, the lobster ravioli,  the salads, I could not tell you which is more delicious. The sauces are light and allow the food’s taste and texture to come alive. The sole and halibut are light and scrumptious, the short ribs are so tender and tasty you cut them with a fork.  The beet salad combination of arugula beets, flash fried goat cheese with almonds is so delectable that you will want to take your time eating it so you can enjoy the flavors. To add to the mouth-watering food, the staff at Etoile is first class, they welcome you to the restaurant as if it is their home. They get to know you and your will feel so welcomed that you will keep coming back to savory your palate and to visit the staff.

French native Philippe Verpiand, is the chef and owner of Etoile, he graduated first in his class from the French Culinary Institute in Avignon, he worked in numerous Michelin-starred restaurants in the French Riviera, Alps regions, Courchevel, Biarritz and in Normandy. This is one of our weekly outings. We love the food, the atmosphere, the garden settings. You have a choice to eat inside or out among the beautiful nursery. Very unusual for Houston but so refreshing. Barret, the chef and owner, walks out to meet his customers, with a warm and laid back smile. The food is delectable. The kale salad is one of the best we have ever tasted, the fish changes daily so it is fresh and delicious. I like grilled Brussel sprouts with my fish, it is superb. The beef, the fish, the cheese and meat tray, the sandwiches, the pizzas, the deserts, the steak salad, have I forgotten anything?? It is all magnificent.

Tiny offers brunch on Saturday and Sunday. You will have to wait in line, but I promise the wait is worth every minute. You can have a mimosa or their homemade lemonade that will refresh you completely. I suggest the migas and you must have one of their croissants and their homemade chocolate chip cookies will melt in your mouth.

What a pleasant surprise when we dined at this  beautiful Italian restaurant. The owner Efisio Farris’ has successfully brought his Sardinian heritage to Houston.

The simple yet delicious cuisine is rich in flavors and textures from his native island. We weren't expecting to have our Mediterrean Sea bass cooked and served in the way we love it ... in salt. The fish was so delicious it melted in our mouths. The pasta is homemade and it reminded us of Italy, aldente and perfect.  The tuna was delectable. The menu shines with inventive dishes including: carpaccios, risottos, pizza from the wood-burning oven, and delicious salads. Efisio invites you to sip on Arcodoro’s Signature Grapparita while sitting in the Bar or dining in one of the many private dining rooms or on  fabulous patio. for a moment I thought I was in Italy. The wait staff is very knowledgeable on the food, the wine selection and makes you feel like you are the most important guest for the night. A great find.
